HoH Lockdown is Over
12:46pm BBTLockdown is over, and the HGs "are free to move about the house." Jen heads straight for the kitchen to prepare some food. Jess gets back into her own bed.
Although the HGs were thinking they'd go back downstairs to find one of the bedrooms closed off, nothing seems to have changed inside the house... so far as we can tell.

Welcome to Thursday afternoon in the Big Brother house. ;) The kids are cleaning up, socializing, and thus far having a light afternoon before they all get prettied up for the live show.
The good news is, the doldrums will officially lift at about 5:55pm BBT when the new HoH is crowned and all the new scrambling for position begins. Even better, Dustin's still out of the house, and what a more pleasant place it is without him. Can't wait to see who the new HoH will be and how the chips will fall tonight on the feeds.
I really didn't expect to see Jen go out this way... without a fight, without some hail mary pass of a negotiation session. Though Jen really grew on me as the season progressed, I'm a bit disappointed in her game this week - she had none.
Eric and Dick are the standout players in that regard thus far this season, and Daniele to a degree as well. Eric's comeback 2 weeks ago was something for the record books - after a complete & public character assassination (engineered by Dick and delivered by Amber) that turned his own alliance against him, he was able to save himself and stay in the game.
Dick's comeback last week, in the 2nd foiled double Donato nomination of the season, was equally impressive. That neither he nor Daniele were eliminated when sitting on the block next to each other twice, while both being huge targets in the minds of every other house guest, phenomenal. Yes, America and Eric helped, but as we've learned in prior weeks (Nick), Eric isn't America's bitch, and Dick needs to receive credit for formulating the plan.
I was hoping for and expecting the same from Jen... Instead we got a total meltdown from which she never made much of an effort to recover.

You know I have appreciated the work put into this blog, but this is the last time I will visit (I know that hurts you terribly) due to the fact that I am sooooo sick of hearing you down Dustin. What the heck did this guy do to you???? I watch the show all the time and have since BB1 and I don't get it? If you dislike him more than the a**hole Dick or the whinny skinny Danniele then I am missing something. Hope you get over this (whatever it is) for Dustin at some point before BB9! Hmmmm... Could it be that he was gay? Maybe you where dumped by a gay guy at some point????
well spoken, Carolyn! I agree 100% I was very disappointed in Jen this week. I thought she was a stronger player than that.
Carolyn very nice synopsis on Jen's demise and Eric and Dick's game play. Spot on.
I kind of think that after several weeks of character assassination, verbal abuse and demoralizing her spirit took it's toll on Jen. Albeit she started the game with a chip on her shoulder, I guess she at least played her game the way she wanted until she finally had had enough.
Jen=full circle: She had a meltdown after getting in the house and thus, she melted again towards the end. I don't think many people would have managed to make it through all of the humiliation for as long as she did.
This game is a mental {and to a degree emotional) sport. Not for the faint at heart. She hung for as long as she could under the circumstances, I think.

How dare you come on Carolyn's site and disrespect her like that... and you can't even leave your name!? Everyone is entitled to their opinion... not everyone thinks as you do. I was a Dustin fan and am an Amber fan and I am clearly in the minority on this website but I still respect and appreciate all the workthat Carolyn does to keep us all informed. She never condemns those with differing opinions from her. You should have just silently left the blog site if you did not care for how it was done... not disrespected someone who puts all of herself into keeping people informed.

I carefully read your post, but I have to oppose your "Dick's comeback" thesis. I didn't find Dick's escape from eviction last week impressive at all. It was America's doing, and poor little Jess COULD have broken the tie (but chivalrous Eric didn't want to leave her vulnerable... awwww), sent Dick home to keep Dustin, but then Eric wouldn't have completed a task [bye bye bucks]...
And Eric's comeback WAS absolutely amazing...
I think Jen's gift, nay SUPERPOWER, is that she can convince some of the other girls (well... she's been shown to convince Kail, Jessica, and Amber at one time or another) that she actually knows something scandalous about some other member of the group (whom she is trying to sandbag).
We all know of course that Jen is full of it. But it's gotten her to sequester and that's pretty far.

(first anon)Read that Dustin interview where he said his ego did in him while referring to himself in third person. His smugness was intolerable, not his sexuality.
I couldn't agree more about Jen. I thought she had game. It's weird the justifications people post on why she broke her slop commitment. She thought she found a loophole, that would make her a great option to keep in the game because she wouldn't be allowed to compete in HOH & vetos, especially if she continued to not honor 30 day commitment. Not taking into consideration that every game show has a waiver that rules can be changed by discretion of producers. Sitting next to Jameka last night & saying multiple times that if she campaigned that she would've stayed shows her true character. Why say that other then try to hurt Jameka who saved her with a veto earlier in the game. Her insecurities got the best of her this week.
Jen is a wannabe player. Claims she didn't audition yet she's in the house. How & why? Glad to see her go since she purposely antagonizes everyone and I don't consider that strategy. The comments she makes are ridiculous and doesn't seem to have any thought behind them. She says she doesn't think like everyone else, but does she think at all before she speaks? Watching her eat in the kitchen & walking around dropping crumbs today while everyone cleaned was total disrespect for the game and the houseguests.
I agree that anon 1:26 couldn't possibly be watching the live feeds. Dustin seemed ok. However, if you watched the live feeds and ShoToo you saw someone totally different. He was not very nice.
Just the way Jen's meltdown was never shown on TV. It was a very low point for her that you just had to witness to be really disgusted. You had to see it to believe it.

Folks say (more) stupid crap (than they would otherwise) when they can hide behind the anonymity of their keyboards. Your judicious moderation of this board is the only reason I have come here at all.

And as miserable as he was, you know I wish Wad had left instead.

As for Jen: Can't blame her for falling apart. Wish she hadn't. Maybe she can become the Carol Wayne of the '00s (except for the tragic ending part)!

What was there left for Jen to do? Do you really think she could have changed everybodys minds? No. They don't even talk to her. I'm somewhat glad she gave up and is going home, I'm sick to death of seeing everyone pick on her. It makes me ill.

Carolyn do not listen to Anon1. They say that you can't possibly hate Dustin but you can hate Evel or that "skinny whinny Daniele".... see you have NEVER bashed Dustin for being gay, but here we have an anonymous commenter who just bashed someone for being skinny... which is just as hateful as bashing someone for being gay (even though that never happened.) If that person paid any attention to this blog or the live feeds they'd know Dustin is frowned upon because he got to cocky in the game and that's the disturbing thing about him. He even admitted it himself, he got too confident. Something you should NEVER do in the BB house is get too confident!

I know its a little off of subject, but what I find funny now is all of the people complaining to the FCC about the show. There isn't a thing that the FCC can do about the show when it runs on the live feeds or on Showtime. Kinda like having XM or Sirius. Why do people want to pay for something and then complain about it? If you don't like it don't watch and don't pay for it.
Jen would have wasted her time trying to campaign. They flat out told her that she was the one to go. Odds were stacked against her. I also do not blame her for her meltdown. She was badgered for a whole month and she finally blew. Plus, it gave this show life for a day since it was getting sooo boring. Btw, I can't wait to see Daniele get backdoored by someone. Sweet justice.
Maybe Jen is taking the high road?

There was a time, last week, when the HGs (except Dani, and didn't speak much to her until she went into the HOH room and called them out on the non-speaking. In fact, I think she even said that they "wouldn't even look me in the eye") did not speak to Dick either, and he still managed to not get voted out. I also think that Amber spoke to her a little bit yesterday/last night (the whole make up deal). Just because they weren't speaking to her was NO reason to just roll over and play dead...in my opinion.
That was so uncalled for anonymous!
You must not watch the live feeds or Showtime. Carolyn isn't bashing Dustin cause he is gay. I hated Dustin what does that make me a gay hater? I loved Bunky so there. Now don't bother to come back to this great site!

As far as Jen goes, I am shocked at how horrible people have been to her. She isn't my #1 choice of people in the house but she was treated cruelly. As far as her eating, you can't blame a girl for being hungry, and it's really nice to see a model chow down.
Thought I would add my two cents into this, my two very best friends are gay and I love them more then anything in the world, but I hated Dustin badly by the time he left this game regardless of his sexual orientation. He was the most pompus a$$. The only person I actually can stand to watch anymore is Jess because that girl is frickin hilirious. I can't imagine how boring that house would be without her. Last night's after dark was the worst ever, please BB give these people more beer and something to do!!!

Just to clear up what I posted previously...I was NOT saying Jen eats too much!! My reference was to her going off slop.
As a matter of fact even though I dislike Jen and Amber on the show, I think the comments made about their weight are very rude. If you were put in a house with ABSOLUTELY nothing to do then 75 percent of us would gain weight too.

But people listened to Dick, because of who he is. He can really get into their heads, and the odds were not stacked as hardly against him. Last week, we knew that Dick had two votes for sure - Dani & Eric, this week there are no for sure votes to keep Jen. As a matter of fact, there's a for sure vote to get her out of here (the penalization vote)
Really, who could you see sitting down with Jen and actually listening to her, and helping her?
Everybody knows that Jameka can't compete for HoHs. Even if Jen was to (somehow) convince everyone that she was deserving to stay, they wouldn't keep her strategically. They can get her out this week, and Jameka within the next week (or two) - I forget how many left she has to go.

I gotta say up until Aug 12th I was a TV only person... BOY OH BOY did my opinion change when I got the feeds and found this page and watched some older stuff on Youtube.

Carolyn -- Just wanted you to know also how much I appreciate your blog. I am a first time blogger and this is the first year I have seen anything beyond the live show on BB.
I went to several other boards before I found this one and agree completely with Cliff -- ppl continually just made very idiotic comments. That is not what I was looking for. I really wanted perspective on the game.
Then I found you and love what you do. I agree you have an opinion too as a fan of the show. Your updates are fair and very balanced -- let us know what is going on.
I have been posting as anynmous just because I have been too lazy to register yet. But will do so soon.
And Cliff -- have been reading about WAD for days and just now figured that one out. How hilarious! I always enjoy your humor and creativity.

Yeah, darn right, I'm jealous. Had I don't know how many birthdays at the old Crandon Park Zoo. And I could/couldn't tell you about the dates I had along Crandon Blvd. and at Cape Florida.
But we get snow. (Not a selling point for most people, I know, but I love it.)
Angie...I am the individual who posted about Jen having the odds stacked against her. I do realize that Dick apologized to Jen. I was referring to the whole month and fiasco prior to this apology. And the houseguests were not very nice even immediately prior to Jen's cigarette incident. They were very cold to her and basically ignored her. Also, I would hardly call it working together. I would call it Dick and Daniele USING Jen. He even said he used her for a vote. I still stand by the fact that she would not have had a chance with those people in that house. I am glad she did not have to campaign to those mean people and followers for votes. Btw, great blog...thanks.

I was glad to find this blog and see that someone dislikes Dustin as much as I do. And I have no problem with gay people. He was so arrogant and thought he was all it. He rubbed ALOT of people the wrong way. To be honest this season is my least favorite as I don't really have any favorites (except Nick - how I miss seeing his gorgeous face!) just certain people that I hate more than others.
Stephen and Ray - lol! Glad to see that someone understands! Just because we don't care for someone who happens to be gay doesn't mean it is BECAUSE they are gay. This goes for other races, religions, sexual orientations etc!

This year is the first time I ever answered back to any of the blogs.Carolyn has always maintained her integrity on these blogs.
Granted I do not have either live feeds or showtime afterdark but who needs it.Here is where I go to find the truth on BB8.
I have also tried the other sights but couldn't stomach the offensive language and character bashing.At least here I get more information on the truth of each player and the outcome of each show.
I love Meemma and Cliff who I see everytime i read these blogs.Cliff always makes me laugh and Meemma covers all the important points.
Thank you so very much for the best blog sight about BB ever to be on the internet.
