Overnight Report
The Set-Up
It's been rather an eventful evening in the Big Brother 8 House. Before the Overnight Report Officially begins, at 11pm BBT, we need to do a little backtracking. Just a bit - to 8pm BBT on Wednesday night, when Dustin Swore to Amber, on this Mother and his Brother's Lives, that Eric would be evicted on Thursday...

With all the swearing on family members that goes on between these two, I'm just that much happier to not be related to either of them.
The Leg-Work
As the evening progressed, so did Eric's goodwill farewell tour through the house guests, purely in an effort to not leave the house being thought of as a monster, of course. Around 11pm BBT, he moved in to Zach, and did his best to appeal to Zach on a strategic level. The conversation could have ended when Eric confirmed to Zach that he caused Nick's eviction, cause that's when Zach stopped listening in earnest, as if Zach would have gone against Dick in the first place.
Following Zach/Eric, Zach invited Kail to come talk to him. She was awkward, at best, and Zach did most of the talking, letting her know that even with all that's happened, he never went against the original alliance. He voted for both Mike and Nick to stay, and this week she's got his vote. It's a promise, and unlike most, Zach's promise is actually worth something.
You know what... I can't prolong this:
The Outcome:
Eric's Farewell Tour was Successful.
Eric said all the right things to enough of the right people, and as of bedtime, not only is Jess firmly back in his camp, so is Jameka, and so is Mr 4th Vote, Dustin - Mom and Brother be damned. Dustin's even manipulated Amber back over the fence and into Eric's camp.

BACKYARD
Dustin, Amber
Dustin: Talk to him. He does love you.
Amber: (agrees to hear him out)
Dustin: You may not know it now, but this is the best thing...
Jameka: (confirms)
Dustin: It's a numbers game, and Eric knows that.
Amber: I'm afraid he'll put me up!
Dustin: Eric wouldn't do that. He has no reason to, and he would be out if he did. Amber: Well... whatever. Jen told me that Eric said he doesn't want to be sitting next to me or Jameka in the final two.
Dustin: Eric knows that when it comes down to the 5 of us he is the first one out. We need to keep him here... at least a minimum of 3 weeks, and then we can vote him out, cuz we won't need him anymore. This is our best move.
Amber: I need to think. It's a lot. You can vote however you want.
Dustin: No. You can't act like that. We're together in this.
- ***I think I just spit up a little in my mouth.
Dustin: No. The lines are drawn. We need Eric now. Kail is no use. She can't win HoH's.
Amber: I don't know what to tell you.
Dustin: Whatever happens, I need to know that you feel comfortable.
Amber: I need to think.
They hug, and he whispers...
Dustin: (Keeping Eric) is the best thing for you and me.
They move inside, and Jameka joins the effort to convince Amber. It doesn't take more than another minute before Amber says to Dustin...
Amber: I don't want you to be the only guy in the group. You'll be stuck with all girls if we vote Eric out. That would be kinda bad. Let's be honest: guys are better competitors for the most part. Guys are smarter and stronger... not just in here, but in terms of a lot of things.

By 1:48am BBT, Dustin is outside, making small-talk with Dick, Dani and Kail.
Manipulating Amber is always an easy task, but it ought to have been more difficult given the situation.
Dick is blissfully unaware, as is Dani.
I, on the other hand, am ill, but not surprised. Eric worked some serious magic last night, and I have to give him all the credit it the world for staying in the game against seemingly insurmountable odds... If he stays, he deserves it.
My only hope is that Amber will get her walking papers today... CBS has surely suffered enough humiliation by now.
What makes me ill is Dustin. That and this incessant ringing in my ear: Joe was right, Joe was right, Joe was right. If Dustin was a master manipulator, I'd give him credit for it... But he's not - he's just surrounded himself with very easy targets. I suppose there's some credit due there, but ever so little.

Well, I'm glad somebody's happy.
As of 5am BBT, Dick and Dani are up and chatting nicely in the backyard. They have no clue what's about to happen. Here they are discussing the personal aspect of the game, relative to Eric, Dani and Nick.

At 5:15am, they have a little disagreement, and Dani gets up and goes to bed. Dick's now alone, doing chores.

Oh... say it isn't so! As much as I liked the idea of America's Player... it just doesn't seem like it really worked for us. Afterall.. if it did- Nick would STILL be in the house! For me it's a toss up between Kail and Eric but I don't want Dick and Dani to be outnumbered! AHHHHHHHHH!!!
What I always find so amusing by the HGs or rather NH/LNC is they all say that no way would they vote for D&D at the end but, yet no one wants to take them to the end which if they believed what they said, would guarantee them the win so, why so hard to get rid of them. And paleeese it's not about Dick's mouth because at this point they have to live with it one way or the other.
After this all I have to say about the actions of the past few days is... I GIVE UP!

I really am hoping against hope that CBS kicks out Amber, that kinda talk is just as bad as phycial violence.
ERIC MAKES ME SOOO SICK TO MY STOMACH! he's such a horrible person in that house.. i just wish i could relieve daniele & dick of this pain and send them home just for the fact that they're soooo above the nerd herd and dont deserve whats happeneing.

I can't believe Dustin actually used a word like solidarity without screwing up the pronunciation. Most of the conversations he has make me cringe. If you cannot pronounce words bigger than tree or dog don't use them. They all suck for changing their mind.

I don't think it was a changing of the minds. I think that the nerd herd has just postponed Eric's demise. From their gameview, it would be beneficial to keep Eric in for another week so they can go after dick or dani. However for us "Evel" fans, let's just keep our fingers crossed during the HoH comp. It should be an interresting one tonight.
I'm kinda hoping Zach or Jen wins it tonight just so we won't have to endure ANOTHER week of the same stupid nominees. I don't care who goes up! I wanna see some heads spinnin'!

Well, well, well... amazing what one day will do to change people's minds. Basically by not voting Eric out this week will split the house in two, with major casualites on both sides. Dare I say, Jen will be going a lot further in the game then expected.
With the LNC going after Dick and Daniele and Dick & Dani going after the LNC, this is not going to be very pretty. If I was Jen, I would just sit back and watch and let the rest of the houseguests eat each other.
My vote is for Jen to win this whole competition at this point. She's the smartest player in there and perhaps the biggest threat that no one seems to really care about getting out of the house, otherwise she would have been evicted ages ago. They seem to backdoor everyone else, why not her?
I am so mad. If they were so smart they would keep Kail. She can't compete in the HOH comps for a while and she would put up Dick. I can't stand how Amber and Dustin lie. Amber saying she hasnt lied once and her saying she loves everyone makes me sick. I hate fake people. And her prejudice comments were wrong. I want Dani and Dick to win. But if they don't I might end up wanting Jen. I dont like the nerd herd
OMG what are these folks thinking...oh wait THERE'RE NOT!!! lol But hey at least there's ONE good thing if Eric stays...he still has to do what we say for votes and such and he can't get around that. Soooooo let him stay and we can make his life SO difficult and let's see how he explains it THIS time ;-)

I know a lot of people seem to hate Eric...I haven't followed discussion or posts on it, so I'm not sure why. But I really love Eric. Has he manipulated? Yes. But that's the game. What it crappy what he did to Amber? Yes. I can't even say anything about that.
But I have to say, I still feel bad for Eric. The catalyst that started the whole house turning him into the big bad monster was NOT his fault.
I'm so sick of Dick's intimidation tactics. I loved and appreciated Dick's "strategy" at first. But I'm starting to see why Dani didn't want anything to do with him for so long. Calling people out on lies is one thing. But what he is doing is really just being a bully. He expects Eric to not fight for his "life" in the house, and not talk to people??? And if he does, Dick is going to make his life hell???? That's not even playing the game!
If Eric manages to stay this week, he DESERVES to be there, and win. To go from one of the most beloved housemates, to the most hated, with NO ONE on his side, and NO alliance, and no one to help him...if he survives eviction this week, I think he damn well deserves to be there :)

My head is spinning from all of this. I can only imagine what the houseguests are going through with all of this back and forth crap. I want Eric to leave the house this week, but I will still be satisfied if he stays and wins HOH. We can make him put up Amber and Dustin, heehee!! Or maybe Jessic and Jameka, heehee!!

Well it is a numbers game for LNC. their odds of winning HOH are greater with eric around. i hope Zach wins HOH and puts Dustin and Jameka up. that would rattle the brains of the not so smart LNC group.

This is great news!! Eric is by far my favorite competitor, despite the off comments he has made; they all have said some pretty nasty things.
Dick is going to go ballistic when he hears a vote of 4 to 3. He won't even wait until Kail leaves... I can't wait... get out the popcorn tonight folks!!!
B.T.W. Amber is the most disgusting character I have ever seen on a reality show... Loved the line last night when she said to Dani that "she would take Nick's bed" and "[Dani] could take Eric's bed" ... all the while shoveling "low fat" ice cream in her mouth... PUKE!!! GO HOME!!!

I'm with you on the Dick spitting everywhere... so nasty. And every time Dustin touches something I cringe. Game and all, I could not sit and be quiet about these peoples gross disgusting habits. Even last night when Dustin and Amber were having their conversation on the couch and Dustin was rubbing her knee, all I could think was...ewwwwwww he's rubbing his buggers all over her.
We still have 8 hours to go and Im sure things will change again. Its going to be down to who can have the last word.
What is this I have read about a double eviction maybe? Would they send both of them home tonight if that is the case? (first season for me) Also, I have read that they might pull Amber out over her comments? BUT, wait until after the vote of course to save Eric. Dont know how true that is.

It's completely hysterical to me to see them all high fiving each other and doing the little victory dance and so happy with their decisions and everyone is glowing!!! To all of a sudden being swayed into changing their minds and forgetting about how much they all look like idiots to us!!! Unbelievable...now I kind of hope Dick wins HOH and puts Amber and Dustin up on the block and use Eric as a replacement. They deserve it!!

Good God, this game is making my head spin this year. I've never seen so many flip-floppers. Poor Kail, that's who I really feel bad for. Yes, my heart also goes out to Dani and Dick who are in for a hell of a shock - but aw, Kail .. "you're safe, no you aren't, you're safe, no you aren't, you're safe, no you aren't, you're safe .... Oops, you go home" ... that's so mean. Despite her comments at the beginning of the season about "gays" (being a lesbian, it rubbed me the wrong way) .. I truly believe she is a good person - just a little misinformed.

In a way, good for Eric - if he really did pull that off ... crap! The boy is amazing ... I still don't think I'd ever sit down for a drink with the guy (although, i can say ... besides Nick, I don't think there are any houseguests I would sit down with really .. maybe Kail ... I could befriend her and she could realize that if one of her children "chose" ( HA ) a "gay lifestyle" .. it really wouldn't be that bad!)

katie - ditto on the head-spinning.. kail's grown on me too, especially being the only person human enough to not desert Eric in what had to feel like the loneliest moment of his life.. re: amber, yup, she's in for it, and yup - i think cbs HAS to say something. i keep waiting fo rthe press release of the official statement, but nothing so far... if it comes, it'll go up immediately. though frankly, i don't think a statement is enough in this case.

Yeah, that is the question I want to pose to everyone KIM, and to you too carolyn. Arn't there specific rules in the BB Game that says you cannot use language or actions that housemates or the viewing public would find extremely offensive? BB8 in the UK (My GF is Welsh and her family watches it obsessively and calls us in Canada afterward lol) booted a contestant because she used the N-word. Where is the difference? And why the hell is still on the show, walking around and calling him a no-good piece of everything?
Even worse, she has done it on two occations, and attacking two different groups; Jews and Homosexuals. It just doesn't fly for me. I mean, as a fellow non-practicing jew from the east coast... oi vey.

Taylor, i wish I had the answers for you.. I don't... I have to believe they'll address it somehow, but here's a difference - in the UK, people make their voices heard when an HG is offensive like that...
We need to do that too, and in a well-thought out, rationale way... Easy on the caps and exclamation points.. just this is wrong, and as a viewer i'm extremely offended, etc etc... no threats, just facts. anything outlandish will just give someone a good giggle, or put the writer on a watch list...
Sadly, CBS and BB seem to be enjoying the publicity (ratings, site views, online buzz, etc) and doing not much else.
As Nick said it best... they got rid of the wrong gay guy!!!
All I can say is if the votes turn out to be in favor of Eric staying in the house, then CBS will have to hire and extra person on the censor button next week because as much as ED throws out the 4-letter words, can anyone imagine the stuff coming out of his mouth after tonights vote!!!!
