Jessica's Mom - Interview #6, Part One
This is the 1st part of the 6th interview in our series with Jessica's mother, Marie. The 2nd part of the interview will be uploaded later this evening. Please do not repost any content from this site without written permission.
BB8Dish-Carolyn: First off, I want to thank you for being such a great sport, not only this week when Jess is on the block, but the whole season so far. I picked Jess as a front-runner very early on, because I saw a lot of potential in her and her way of playing the game... She's a very positive person and very personable...great at comps, she makes very few enemies, and she's perceived as a non-threat at the same time... So far, so good, but this week feels like trouble. Still, there's a couple days left to go, and as we've learned, anything can happen in this game. What a rollercoaster!
- Marie - Jessica's Mom: While things definitely look bad at the moment, I am hoping there will be some last minute strategy changes by Dick & Dani that will save Jess.
I wish Dick & Dani would realize it is in their best interests to keep Jessica, because if they turn on her, they will lose not only her jury vote, but very likely Eric’s (since they don’t know his vote is controlled by America), as well as most of the other jury members, and there will be little to no chance either of them will win unless they are up against each other & the jury has to vote for one of them.
bb8dish: OK, after 9 weeks of blissful, ray of sunshine Jess, we're meeting a new Jess this week - on the block Jess - How are you coping seeing your daughter so stressed out?
- JMom: Overall I think she is handling the situation very well. I think she is hopeful that she can trust Dick & Dani, but not having control over her future is making her a little more nervous than normal. If she knew how they were planning to stab her in the back, she would be far more stressed and possibly campaigning harder to save herself.
bb8dish: Off the eviction subject for a moment, I don't think there was a dry eye in the house when Jess got her phone call from Dean. What an incredible relief for her to have that call... to touch base not only with her brother and best friend, but with her reality outside the house... and on the day she knew in her heart that she'd be going up on the block... I don't even know what my question is here... I guess it has to be, how much did that mean to you? And were you touched by the gesture from Eric?
- JMom: I thought it was incredibly generous of Eric to give Jess the gift of the phone call, and the timing was perfect in that Dean had just returned from Iraq a few days earlier, so he was able to tell her he was home safe and sound himself. That call meant the world to Jessica, Dean, and all of us in our family too.
- JMom: Based on his actions that I have seen on the feeds, and the interviews given by his brothers, I do feel like he is being genuine in his feelings for Jessica.
- JMom: My concern with Eric & Jessica’s relationship has absolutely nothing to do with him personally or his religion. I just feel they both would have been better served to focus on strategy than building a personal relationship. I sincerely hope that Eric and Jessica can develop their relationship after the game, based on a more truthful setting.
- JMom: Eric is shackled by the America’s Player twist; but even given the twist, with the remaining players, I feel teaming with Eric is Jessica’s best hope to stay in the game, as he clearly is a strong player, and he has her best interests at heart.

america's vote wouldn't change for dick or dani to win regardless of what move they make this week. if they are in the final two, america will vote for one of them
I believe Eric casts that vote on his own. I asked the same question last week and was told voting ends the 12th, which is before the final vote.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
As for Jess's mom, she really sounds like a lovely woman and based on how well-adjusted Jess is (unlike many of the other houseguests), she must be a very good mom. I'm sure the same goes for her dad and the rest.
Good luck to the whole family, and Jess will do fine in life even if she doesn't win BB8. But personally I still hope she (or Eric) wins.
Nice interview, I was in tears myself when I saw her get her call the other night on the show. However, as far as the comment about Dick and Dani stabbing her in the back, Jessica planned on doing it to them last week and this week she mentioned doing it so they just beat her to the punch so to speak. Too bad Jess didn't play the game from the beginning, we never saw much of her for the first few weeks as she stayed in the bedroom most of the time which she has started doing again. Plus as mentioned at Jokers by someone who was put off her after she started edging Dick on and agreeing to punching some of the female houseguests in the face, I too got put off her around that time but more so when she started getting under the covers with ERic. I am glad she is going and hopefully Dick and Dani will be split up next.
Responding to Brooks, I think what Jessica's mom was saying was that as far as Dick and Dani are concerned, since they don't know Eric is AP (assuming he votes as AP and not for himself), they (Dick and Dani) should assume that voting out Jessica will cost them both Jessica and Eric's votes on the jury (if they have another option). While it may not affect America's vote, Dick and Dani shouuld believe that it would affect Eric's vote.
Good luck to Jessica this Thursday!
Ogre fan?
thanks, jeannie. jess' mom has been amazing throughout the entire season. i was really hesitant to ask for another with jess being on the block this week, but since people were asking for it, i did, and she was, as always, incredibly gracious about it.
Carolyn - do you know if the families have been in touch with each other?
anon@1:53 in some instances, yes, i can confirm that.
No details????
which families are you speaking of?
Pulling teeth, are you? Frankly, I'd like all the dirt, but I guess Jess and Eric if you are going to make me choose ...
i think it's time for jess to go this week. she hasn't played a good game at all since she's been there really. she hasn't done anything but try to befriend people only to talk about them behind their backs (she has always done that) and she has won hoh a couple of times, but so has dani. comparing her to daniele, she is much weaker because daniele has all the veto's she's won in addition to the hoh wins. if they were in the final 2 together, given how stupid this cast has been, they would vote for jess to win because they like her more, not by how well she played. with that said, it would be in dani's best interest to get rid of jess now while she has the chance. i have been back and forth on this, but after i have thought about it that way, i see why daniele wants to get her out now. this may be her only opportunity to get her out and she has next week to get rid of the other player that would be hardest to beat, which is jameka. i will be voting for eric to evict jessica this week.
Thanks for another great interview! I hope Jessica's brother knows how much we appreciate his service for our country!
Jessica has been my favorite since early on. I want a miracle to happen that would cause her to stay. Isn't there a holy ping pong ball that could keep her there?
What an enjoyable interview, Carolyn. Thank you (and Marie).
While it's heartening to know that Marie would like to see the E/J relationship continue after BB (I am one who finds them very cute together) I have a nagging concern.
I'm thoroughly convinced of Eric's interest in Jess, but Jess is harder to read.
I guess my fear is that Eric may be saddled with yet another long term, on again/off again relationship with a girl who wants to keep her options open.
Your interview leaves me wondering. What do the Steins think?
Winkyface
It is wonderful to see Jess's brother Dean home from Iraq, can't wait till all our soldiers are home...
I've enjoyed her mom's interviews... and I did listen to the radio interview she had.. what bothered me is that she feels it's wrong for Dick and Dani to go off their word and vote Jess off... tho they both have stuck to the plan for 2 weeks...
I wonder if she feels it's okay if her daughter got HOH next the 2 people that would go up would be
dick and dani.. I have heard Jess say that several times...
"quote from yesterday"
Mon 1:13 AM BBT After Eric came out and before Dick did, Jessica asked Eric if he thought Daniele had heard her in the bathroom when she said she'd nom D/D next week - setsuna
Eric said there was no way Daniele heard as they were whispering softly. Jess replies that Jameka reassured her that water was going and she wouldn't be heard over that but she's worried. Just as Eric is reassuring her further, Dick came out.
What gives.. it's okay for Jess but not for Dani and Dick...
Best move for them is to get rid of
Jess now... and hopefully Jameka next...
May the best BB player win this game!!!
♥
Clearly, Jessica's mother stated for the record (and this is a fact) that Jessica's best hope for staying in the game is teaming up with America's Player.
Um... Sorry about any inconvenience, my future mother-in-law.
Don't look at so much as losing $500,00 dollars. Instead, look at it as winning a 5'7" New Yorker.
jessica needs to lose eric...he does nothing but bring her down...and as soon as they get out of the house...hes gonna get beat up by janelle, so then whats she gonna do?
Thanks Carolyn. Another interesting interview. I am wondering though if Marie got tougher questions if she would be as accessible. I know you have liked Jessica all summer, but I feel the questions are a bit 'soft ball'. Again, she seems like a nice woman... but clearly her love for her daughter is clouding her knowledge of the game. She states things that are not plausible... like Eric's final vote. She has no clue how the Jury will vote in the end. Really. None of us do.
I'd like to know if she thinks it's fair that Jess would turn on D&D next week. Because we know she will. So why hold it against stronger players to strike first.
I'd like to know what she thinks about Jess being so whiney and full of feelings of entitlement this week. She's been totally pissed that Zack nominated her. Marie has done other interviews and it seems she does not hold Jess responsible for anything and partially blame her eventual eviction on everybody from Janelle's visit to their mother...
Also, I'd like to know if Jessica drinks daily while home. She sure knows how to party. Seriously. And it's usually after drinking that she gets heavy with Eric.
Lastly, I wish Jessica another family call on Thursday... because I am tired of her sweety pie edits by CBS. They have never shown her sulky or shitty side.
IMO.
Here..Here.... Tella..
I can't wait till Jess's whiny little butt is out of there....
Jess told Eric today that she would not take an HOH picture with Zach and if she had to she would mess up the picture (forgot exact word).. It's okay for Jess to put Zach up and want him out, but its not okay for Zach to put Jess up and want her out...
hhhmmmmmm whats wrong with that picture...
And it's not okay for D and D to take Jess out this week, but it's okay for Jess to take them out next... hhhhhhhmmmmm whats wrong with this picture...
Sorry Jess, your time is up and you need to go.. take your whiny voice to the sequester house where you can drink some more...
The most annoying thing about BB is the way people think they should vote. People can vote however they please.
Just because you win the most HOH's or POV's does not make you the best player. Dick and Eric have played the best game. Danielle is great at competitions, but has no idea what's she's doing. If Dick wasn't in the house she'd have been gone before jury.
