Interview #6 with Jessica's Mom, Part 2
With apologies for the delay in posting this, here is part 2 of the 6th interview with Jessica's mother, Marie. The questions were posed the day following Dick and Daniele's coming up with the master plan (to evict Jessica). While the plan has stayed the same, Jessica's knowledge of it was altered yesterday when Dani slipped up and spilled the beans, and that is not reflected in the questions of this interview.
As with all interviews (and other posts) on BB8Dish, we respectfully request they not be copied, pasted and reposted elsewhere without express written permission.
Here it is:
bb8dish: Just yesterday afternoon, Jameka told Jessica she thought Dick was up to something fishy. Jessica let that simmer a while, and then decided she believed it. Eric convinced her not to... For her own sake, I'm really hoping she doesn't let it drop, cause if she does, it may be her end. Often this week, she's been relying on Eric to do her talking for her... What do you think the odds are that she'll put a stop to this and remember she came into the house on her own?
- JMom: I think Jess is acting the way she feels is in her best interests right now, and I don’t think her actions will change. With all the information we have (that she doesn’t have), of course I wish Jessica would listen to her instincts more, and not rely so much on Eric’s opinion.
On the other hand, I can totally understand why Jessica is not campaigning vigorously to save herself this time on the block:
- 1. Jessica feels that she and Eric have saved Dick or Danielle on two occasions since their alliance and believes they will reciprocate.
2. Another reason for Jessica not to visibly campaign against Jameka is that she has built a true friendship with Jameka throughout the game and will need her vote should Jessica make it to the final two.
I wish Jessica would remind Dick and Danielle that if she is evicted after making it to the final four IN THEIR ALLIANCE, she will be a much needed ally for them in the jury house if one of the Donato’s are in the final two.
I heard Eric tell Jess that if Dick & Dani do honor the alliance as expected, they should as well, and will all work to evict Zach next week. It is still my hope to see Dick, Dani, Eric, and Jess as the final 4. Wouldn’t that make a great show?!
- JMom: I would like to see Jessica get more involved with Dick & Dani to remind them why they agreed to go to the final 4 together. I would also wish her to have fun with all the houseguests for the rest of her time in the house, so she is not just worried and stressed about the upcoming vote(s).
- JMom: Talk to Dick & Dani and hold them accountable/responsible for the alliance they agreed to. Remind them of the deal they made, and tell them if they don’t honor the agreement, they will lose both her’s & Eric’s votes if they are able to make it to the final two. Enjoy your time in the house, remember this is a once in a lifetime opportunity you have been given, and you don’t want any regrets so give it your all.
It’s every houseguest for them self, so do what you think is best for you. Build your personal relationships after the game is over, keep your head in the game for now. Stay rested for competitions, eat well, drink less, exercise to stay at your physical best, and most of all keep praying when times get tough.

If I had a 3 minute phone call with Jess, I would definitely tell her about Eric being America's Player!
And, I agree about Jessica's relationship with Jameka -- she has ALWAYS said that she is closest to Jameka & Eric, and that she trusted them the most. Also from her Veto speech, I'm not surprised that she's not campaigning against Jameka...
Eat more, drink less, rest... Sounds like me when I was pregnant! Or now, being a Mommy! ha ha.
B&E- Once you're a mommy the "rest" part is OUT. I forget what sleep feels like. My sons are 13 and 2. Two totally different realms of worry.

She's not campaigning against Jemeka because she had Eric doing it for her, plus she thinks she is safe. I can't wait to see the looks on her and Eric's face tomorrow night when she is evicted.
Here's the thing though - Mom tells her to remind D & D to honor their alliance but then tells her to do what is best for her in the game - what would have been best for her from a game standpoint would have been to take out the power players of D & D when she had a chance. Dick and Daniele are thinking about the end game - they can't beat Jessica and as much as it sucks for her it is the best thing for them to do for their game. Daniele said it herself that they can't worry about the jury votes at this point, it is more important to think about getting to the final 2. If Dick and Daniele play their cards right they will be against each other and Eric and Jessica will have to vote for one of them.
Evel Girl -- you are so right! I guess I forgot the "less" part! It's like that for being a Mommy -- and a Blogger, right Carolyn??!

Ooh, I have a suggestion for Jessica, if it were possible to make such a suggestion, which it ain't.
Now it's kinda obvious that D&D *would* betray the alliance given the chance. (And they clearly plan on doing so, but she doesn't know that for certain.)
So, if she was playing hard for herself (which she hasn't to her detriment), she would take Dick & Daniele aside and say ...
"Look, I know that there's going to be a temptation on each of our parts to betray our alliance of four. There's no way you can be sure that I wouldn't, but we won't. But if you do and plan to get us out and end up being the final two to cancel out us voting against you at the end, we pledge now that if that's the case, we're both casting our votes for Dick to win and, Dick, you will know that you would have been responsible for losing your daughter the grand prize. Of course, I know you wouldn't betray us, so I just wanted to put that out there."
But we know what our dear Jess will do/is doing instead. Poor thing, she needs to buck up and fight her own battles instead of having to lean on her personal Sir Pierce-A-Lot.

The reason Jessica is saying "You better win HOH this week" to Eric is because she wants to be eligible to play the following week (final 4) when it really counts (and keeps her safe from a possible POV upset of nominations).
Smart and selfish. Too bad she won't be around to further take advantage of Eric's pu**y-whipped-ness.
Weeks ago someone made a comment much to the same effect, but here I go ...
I find it continuously upsetting that so many women seem just won't stick together and up for each other and would rather tear other women down, be it in the house or around here.
Jess & Dani are each using their own skills and strategies and their personalities are simply what they are, magnified by this pressure-cooker environment. Clearly, it seems that Dani's will take her at least one step farther than Jess.
But I'm learning to really appreciate Dani for being a much better player than I had seen at first. I tell ya, Nick getting booted was the best thing that happened for her game. Less distractions.
I wonder if JEric hadn't happened if Jess would be better at playing for herself or if she would have gone out even sooner.
Oh, and on the women-sticking-together-thing: How bizarre that the one time that it happened on purpose and not by accident (see Jun/Alison, BB4) was the "Friendship" in BB6 and in addition to them being horribly annoying and smug, it only served to tear down one strong woman competitor (Janelle).
And when Janelle had the chance to team up with a strong woman player (Danielle), she opted instead to team up with men against her. This season, Kail did the same thing on day one.
And it's not about tearing down men and targeting them, but women supporting strong women.
(I know, more psycho-babble from the Cliffster.)
Hoping for that long-promised but never-realized rise of the sisterhood.

Cliff: As a married straight woman, I absolutely LOVE women! I feel very LUCKY that I get along with women in my life, friends, co-workers, family, etc. But, I know that this is not the norm. I think it's so sad. I thought the same thing -- It was definitely Dani and Jess who were so eager to betray the alliance, and not trust the other pair; not Eric and Dick...

Thanks again for the scoop. I still believe Jess' mom is wearing pink sunglasses with a convenient Jess filter... But this is expected. I am happy Jessica has a supportive family to come home to.

The 'women not supporting their own' kind of attitude does not exist in real life either. In studies it has been shown that women prefer a male boss over a female boss. Women has in the past said that they would never vote for a female President etc... I guess time will tell where we stand today...
So, no I am not surprised, but neither do I as an egalitarian woman (was brought up in a country where your sex/gender made little difference) seek out women for the sake of them being women. Rather, I seek out friends and support from those who hold similar views that we are all of same worth and deserve the same... even if we are different in some ways. This is why NOW... was started as Natl. Organization for Women, and not of women. Unfortunately that organization seems focused on women being victims... rather than empowering them. (Sorry, that was really outside of the scope of BB.) It's just that the House our HG live in is really a micro version of the actual experience outside.
I have always loved seeing women achieve their desires and dreams... be it as a mother or as a CEO. This is why I liked Janelle... a strong competitor and do like Dani, a strong competitor and player (even if her immaturity does annoy me on and off). I liked Jen and how she dealt with crappy things coming her way while in the Game before she broke the rules. She was an example of "Don't let other people's opinions of you define you". I never was a big fan of Jess as a player... even though she is one of the most likeable HG (in spite of her drinking, and other less attractive traits... after all who is perfect?).
So, unlike many other bloggers... I want a great player to win BB, not the 'best/or a good' person. However that would be decided...

Personally I dont like Jessica's Attitude this week while being on the block. This is her first time and she acts like it's her 3rd time... Secondly she should take the time to secure her own spot in the house if that's where she truly wonts to be and not depend on Eric to do it for her. Jess Speak for yourself...and yes she see Jameka as a great friend.. but Jameka best Friend is Amber and the only reason she is hanging around Jess is because Amber is Gone. And if it came down to Jameka Amber and Jess in the House Jameka would have no problem keeping Amber and getting rid of Jess
