brian -- they all deserve the money. it's a game, it's not about who needs the money most.
D&D have dominated this game. I am happy for them, but there is a little truth in what jrt said about society.
I have always rooted for the underdog, so this bothers me a lot. Zach reminds me a lot of my own son (can't wait to hear the comments on that one). He is quiet, deep and a loner. But he has the biggest heart around and deserves to be just as happy as the "cool" kids.
I personally don't like the D&D style, but it is what it is and it worked. More power to them.
One last thought -- Dani just said how proud Dick's Mom was going to be of them. My thought is NOT.
But -- it's just a game.

Hey everyone who has said that Dani is a bratty whiner... we all need to remember that Dani is in the house with her dad and that she is only 21. I am 26 and if you put me in the house with my dad I'd probably be a whiner too! lol We all (especially girls) act different when we are with our fathers/parents. Ya know, if you stop and think about it, the producers HAD to have wanted a player like Dick, one who could and would say and do just about anything....and NOT back down. He has kept the show very colorful, to say the least. The Donato's have been on the block more than anyone, and managed to outwit and outplay the rest of them. Dani especially! She has always come through when she needed a BIG win. She's kept a large following.

I just cannot cheer for someone like Dick. From the moment he uttered violent words that are too horrible to repeat, I hated him. He will do anything and hurt anyone to win. Not a hater, just don't like D&D. I know it's a game and agree they have dominated and played it exactly right to get where they are. Not taking anything away from where they are in the game.

Omg I'm so exicted this is the greatest thing to happen. D&D final 3.
Its been stated long ago the reasons and for a D&D lover they will never come to let themselves believe anything other than they are the most wonderful people to ever be on the show.
Recapping the past real fast both were nominated Dick acted like a major but to make sure he left and not her. He won the veto and took her off afraid that the other HGs new it would be a worse payback to him to send her packing than himself, so in turn he saved her (which is how she is still in the game not cause she won the veto). Then cause of people using AP to help their favorite players instead of helping him Dick stayed. D&D really got all the breaks. Now I'm not saying she can't play the competitions well but thats not all that wins the game.
I'm not a D&D lover as I guess you can tell but I can at least admit we differ on who we fill is more worthy and let you feel the way you do as you know I'll still feel the same as I do.
Janelle didn't win when she was by far the better player. In this season its still the same way. I think only once has the best won and umm he didn't win that many competitions.
The fact is though even though I don't feel they are the better players they are at the end and at least one will be at the end. I didn't like that June won or that Maggie won but hey its a game big deal. I'll just hope the next season is better.
i'll take Dick and Dani ANYTIME over Boogie and Erica.

jimmy2bad - I had to leave for about 40 minutes, so I don't have a feel for "ego" yet on Zacks part...but I've heard him tell quite a few lies over the past week that make me go hmmmm. Thing is, they weren't lies pertaining to the game itself, but about himself & things that have happened in the house.
I can say that he is definately expressing himself in a superior fashion to each of the other HGs. He is quite impressed with himself for sure!

how about mentally hurt oh wait that does not count ??I get so tired of the fact that because noone lost a limb or an eye they can't be hurt.
And it appears things may have been slanted when Dick told Dani the DR was rooting for them to win... Yeah ratings means more money for them seem this was a little skewed.
Can any of the D&D lovers tell me if Dick was in a room and did or said what he did on this show to your best friend, your mother, or sister or aunt would you think what he did was cool,or strategy or just oh well its the cost of doing business? If they were just playing a game say your family member was a HG then would all be cool with you. Thats why people have a problem with them. What Dani doesn't think of he does and then exicutes. Thats why people are so irate and don't like what they did and feel what they did was unfair and wrong.. Sorry the whole thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

whats funny about this "deal" that Jam made with them is the fact she didnt have to do anything. It was for that one time and she didnt win so she didnt have to do anything. So good deal to her. She got farther in the game and didnt really have to step on anyone to do that to me means she was a truely good player at least she has most of her morals in tact.

It has been a fascinating show thus far.
As everyone seem to be on the confession track, here is mine - sorry it is quite long!
Have to admit a few things:
I loved D&D strategic pairing (hope they resolved their real-life difference - sometimes $ helps).
Did not like Eric - shifty? - though he had to play AP (help or hindrance? does not matter much). Also his impulses go hold of his senses, you guys know what I mean,lil head over big one.
Jess had a good HoH run - played with her heart, not her head, too bad she did not hear/ heed her Mum's advice.
Could not stand Amber was so "fake" with the bible & oath on daughter - weak thinker, cried too much.
Respected Jameka's approach to the game - though the religious thing was a bit too much at times.Would have preferred Jameka-lite without sanctimony.
Remember Dustin's ego, cockiness and "king of the world" attitude like a rooster on a stack of manure!
Kind of warmed up to Zach as the underdog, respected his quiet but strategic game. Won some key comps. Took some big risks towards the end.
Back to D&D - Dick is the mastermind and executioner and Daniele did not fall far from the family tree, no doubt.
At this stage, I sincerely believe that the best 3 players are competing. My favorite combo over the last couple of months.
I am torn as who I think/hope will win.
D&D in f2 would make for terrific story - convergence of real lfe and "fiction/ game" world.
If it is Dick, he would have earned his place under the sun with spits, insults, etc. but what a competitor and a strategist.
If Daniele wins, she would have studied the game very well and played amazingly - so many wins. Zach as winner would be poetic justice for lots of reasons.
In the end, the public has only one vote - Eric or AP - will Jameka and the last one evicted change the mind of the remaining 6?
At this time, I just want more surprises and a great show.

Anon 8:11 - this is a mental game, it is supposed to mess with your mind. And this isn't the first time that there have been arguments or personal attacks on the show. What about Amber's remarks about Jewish people? No that wasn't to anyone in the house but that was rude to say the least - although if you only watch the show on TV you didn't see that because they didn't air it. What about Will and Boogie? They played a pretty vile mind screwing game. Unfortunately these conflicts give us something to watch and these people know this going into the game. And I don't know him so I can't be sure but I don't believe that Dick acts like that to everyone he knows/meets outside of the house. And no I wouldn't like it if he attacked someone I loved either but sometimes I have to feel that they had it coming, maybe not all of it but some of it. Maybe I'm alone in this but that is my opinion. And I don't think he has attacked everyone in the house... unless I missed it he never attacked Jessica did he? It is a game and people like drama - that is why Jerry Springer did so well! lol

I am ecstatic that Dani got the veto. The have been put up on the block 3 times together and have overcame the odds. I love watching them get through it together. Talking of racist remarks, let not forget that it is no less demeaning for one to be sexist or homophobic.
Dick may "love" women but he does not seem to show a lot of respect for women. Daniele knows more about this side of her dad.
As far I can remember from the feeds, Amber made anti-Jewish remarks, Daniele said Asians were bad tippers, did not read or hear about Zach's remark.
Can someone tell us more who said what?

Yeah he did attack her vervbaly several times when she was on the block, And behind her back as well. He even attacked his own daughter look how he talked about her several times and the things hes called her. To me that is not proper behavior in a game and should not to be rewarded call me crazy then so be it but it should not be.
Dick has taken pervious hgs game to the moon and back noone has been more vial or disgusting as him.
As for the racist comments made in the game... Well your right there was alot of that going on but then again Dick even went there as well and beyond. He knew it would hurt Jam and Zach. He did it PURPOSELY, which makes it worse in my eyes, he used someone's racists words to hurt someone of another race that is the worst kind of racist!

Thanks for the video of Zach's "mighty white" remark - is this a racist remark? Sorry, I don't understand its ramifications as I have never heard it before.
In any case, things are going to be very testy between Zach & the Ds. Does CBS have security ready to jump if someone turns physical - the insults from Dick are sometimes hard to take, that I wonder if Zach may not snap.
I can understand why Jen lost it.
Probably after BB8, CBS will make some changes to the rules.

I know from alot of other boards people dont watch and quit watching after the "burning incident" took place and with jess and eric being gone even the cbs board the posts are down in #'s and slow.

I am enjoying the calm in the house this evening. I wish Jameka could get a bonus. She is very likeable and a good sport, not blaming anybody else for her mistake and misfortune. I actually liked her when she first came in the house... then she just got a bit too weird. I believe that was how she showed her stress. They all do it differently. We all do. Maybe she can sell some of her art work on Ebay? She is a beautiful woman... should do a commercial for M&Ms.
Dick and Dani also have a different energy about them this PM. Less complaining and a calm. They know the odds are good for at least one to win good money.
I feel for all of you who are bummed by the outcome. I have been there myself these past 5 years. Now I feel much more pleased, or more correctly... I am very happy. I hope Dick and Dani find some solace and acceptance in one another and work on their issues out of the house.
Actually i don't think the comment is all that racist as well. I live in WI and they say that quite a bit here. Since this came up i have asked 4 of my black friends if this comment offends them. I was told no. We often say were in a black mood here meaning bad mood that does not mean being black is bad! There were far more racist comments on this show than this one. I also don't think it was slur to Jam either or personally to her. It did not seem to bother her what was said very much either. I think she was more offended when he wiped his hands after he touched her leg.
I think Zach even went inside himself and over searched for things he had done and also realized maybe some of his behaviors are not approprate.
Jameka herself admits she has no "white " friends herself before this and was in the house and was the only black person so she felt huge pressure to represent for her people. She for the most part has played honorably and still even today when Dick was saying and doing things she shruged them off and let them go when it came to the racist stuff, and other comments that were made and still stuck up for people when people were getting bashed.
She did not cave like most people have and joined in on the bashing of others. She may have said things i will lay them out but then also said would give them the oppertunity to explain themselves.
I will be sad to see her go. she brought some diversity and life to BB8 and i think taught them all something about black culture the good the and bad ( if you can call her going off on ED bad which i know some would( i didnt i think he deserved it) so i added that myself ) I think shes really a beautiful girl with a radiant smile when she is not being so careful to watch herself ( like when her hair was pulled back after she got done working out) and a beautiful soul to boot. As someone said i am glad shes out there in the planet somewhere.
I have liked her since day one. She felt out numbered yet everyone seem to take to her even just a little bit that is saying alot for this cast.

Have to say that putting the conversation into context is difficult as we do not have the whole segment or transcript.
Agree with later comment by anon 1:37 - remark was not directed at Jameka or any other person of colour.
Often deductive reasoning can be traced back to prejudice or political correctedness.
The remark is probably distasteful but there was no intentional malice from Zach when he uttered it.
Btw I am a person of colour - of so many racial origins - and have encountered far worse, direct verbal racist attack.
As Carolyn was saying, this is not going to be resolved here. But in fairness, on BB we have all heard worse discriminatory remarks against women, mothers, Jews, Asians, gays, etc. Such behaviours should be condemned.
Am I the only one who thinks that maybe she should use the veto on her dad because even though it does not matter, it would be a nice gesture and repaying him for what he did to her?
what really gets under my skin is when people insult dick's personal demeanor towards women and such based on this game. Dick & Daniele deserve to win because they dominated the competitions, outwitted the other houseguests, and played a really great game. No1 can speculate about Dani & Dick's relationship because no one knows what the truth is so speculation shows nothing about dick's true character.

I am not looking to debate, as this is no doubt a highly emotive and fairly subjective topic.
Just one more post to further clarify my point (made @ 11:02)
Firstly, in "i am in a black mood", black is interchangeable with "dark" and is an age old literary expression (pinning forces of lightness against darkness). It has nothing to do with race (at least, on the surface. We, could of course, further analyze and delve deep down into sub-conscience associations played out through the history of humankind, but we won't do that here.)
I am, in no way, suggesting that Zach has a white hood or Nazi literature hidden in the recesses of his closet. I am not claiming that it is necessary to be a racist to make a racist remark. We often pick up language and expressions with out fully exploring their meaning, beyond superficial impresion. (It is my personal opinion that Zach could benefit from some introspection and self-evaluation, but so can we all.)
I was simply addressing the underlying racial tones of the comment, its self, not the commenter.
I am similarly bothered by black people calling each other N***** and females calling each other B****. I do not care whether or not it is within a bigoted dialogue and meant to hurt someone, these are bigoted and derogatory terms. (Using them to "reclaim" the word is rubbish. "You can't use the the master's tools to tear down the master's house.")
Now, I am of French, Scottish, and Irish decent and could easily get naked, lay down in snow, and mostly disappear. Yet I have my own brain and skills of critical thinking, and so I do not feel I need to check with any black friends regarding what does or does not have racist connotations. In other words, your black friend telling you it is not racist means nothing more than what it is... a subjective opinion from 1 human being. It may match your own opinion and that may, in your own mind, be all the proof you need. That makes it neither absolute nor truth. There are obviously a lot of opinions out there that differ, and I was expressing mine.
Lastly, I am so far beyond "political correctness" that I cannot clearly see it from here. (~_^)b
I speak my mind, regardless of what lurks there, and I am always true to my own personal perspective. I happen to have my own morals, which can easily be summed up by "You should have the right to do whatever the hell you want, as long as you are not hurting anyone else or infringing on their right to do whatever the hell they want".

Wow. Reading all of these comments really got my little head whirling....let me fill you all in on my unique situation in this and why it perked up my ears as it did.
People are in sheer SHOCK I love Dick. Here's why. I am married to a woman, am half black, and AM a woman. Therefore I cover all 3 bases of the alleged racism/sexism that Dick covered and what has riled people up.
Anyone surprised yet? I am sure there are plenty, as I said, a few people are floored I adore this guy for the very same reasons some of you are all up in arms. I however am not, and again here is why.
I do not believe Dick to be a racist nor a sexist. I believe him to be brilliant if anything, and I myself have my own feelings of where any and all of his intent is. Does it come from some hatred for women? No I don't believe so. Does it come from some hatred against homosexuals? No, I don't believe so. Does it comes from some hatred for African Americans? Nope, still not believing so everyone.......
In "real life" I know quite a lot of people like Dick (wasn't lying when I said I can be/am quite evil myself) and they are actually the least racist/sexist people I know of and therefore are able to speak freely and say what they do because they don't harbor any hatred for any such beings.
I know tons of you will read this in utter disbelief and shake your heads while muttering "bless her heart", but as I said, I cover all 3 bases that Dick allegedly despises, and I feel no such thing.
Jameka being that honorable is what I disagree with as well. I recall plenty of people feeling outraged at her initial speech of "being uncomfortable being around all these wghite people".
I hear many black people (my family included) state that had a white person uttered "I'm not comfortable around all these black people" the NAACP would be picketing BB8 as we speak. And that is so true........
Is that not a form of racism? Is it alright for Kameka to say because she is black? I don't think so, not in my opinion no. And I agree, had a white person made that comment, Lord help us from the shitstorm that would have landed at BB8's steps.
But yet, people insist she is an honorable person and the likes of Dick mark racism. Interesting double standard unfolding........
We alllearn she did in fact take the deal by Dick, yet suddenly it's alright because she never really had to follow through with said deal. And? How does that make it any less of a dishonorable thing to do? Simply because she wasn't given the opportunity to follow through with it? And if she had being given the chance? Reagardless of what she chose to do (stick to the deal or blow it off in a screw you gesture to D&D) wouldn't either choice be dishonest no matter how you look at it?
I find it interesting how people vilify some and not others. What makes one the devil himself while another's halo get's crowned. This game calls for deceit and all of us that are not naive knows this. Hence why I think no less of Jameka nor do I Dick.
People need to be measured with the same ruler, not based on what caters to them and their issues. Because by all standards, I should hate the man no? I do not, nor do I hate Jameka. They are all doung what needs to be done in order to win a television sho's grand prize.
I've put my stones down against all the HG's regardless of whom I personally fabor or not, as I have no right flinging them.

I love this board more than others because it has been more civil in general. I check out Joker's for addtl. clips etc... but that is more like a 'fast food' joint. Not as good nor filling. I have checked out some other sites, incl. CBS BB8 and that message board is just horrid. I wonder were people lost their common sense or what turnip truck they came in on. So much hate and vitriol directed at people most of us do not know. But I guess it's human.
I have really disliked things in the house... never hated. One thing is for sure however...
I'm a BB addict... still to miss one episode. I love the interactions between the various people and unlike Stepford Wives... I like when they are raw and real and less PC... it is a science/social experiment of sorts. Would love more of a cultural mix in people... not colors, but culture. Colors for me just show the surface of one's skin. I am an addict like Trekkers are what they are. Granted, I may not walk around with a light saber a la Howie... but may curse and spit as I kindly help an old lady across the street while being whistled at by some construction worker and either smile and say Thanks or Give him a finger sign depending on my mood for the moment. Years back, in the beginning of reality shows... I did one of these things... and to this day I can look at the end result and say "Did I really say that on national TV" while laugh at my youthful somewhat naive self. It's TV. It's not real. I even remember being cast for a Love Connection episode... but when they told me that I was going on a "bad" date... (sorry to upset those who think it was by accident... it's very scripted... with somebody polar opposite of me) I backed out because I did not want to be trashing somebody on TV where editing was in charge and not me. At least on BB... there is always the Live Feed to refer to.
I love being a complex creature and therefore I love watching people that are the same. I would not appreciate a BB where people walk around like robots and smile graciously to someone's face and then turn around and talk behind one's back.
What to do now... when it's almost over? No other reality show gets one as involved on an emotional level... because we don't ge to see the unedited version.
Anyway, have a majestic kind of day... enjoy it. Tomorrow may never come.

Here's my take on the "mighty white" comment, since I grew up with it. The term "white" in that comment has more to do with the ideology of the western era in that the "good guys" always wore white, and not with skin color or race. Telling someone that they are "mighty white" in reference to some action they took or something they said is telling that person that you think they are a good person for doing or saying what you did.
I hope that clears it up for y'all. Those of us raised around this sort of thing don't think anything of it because it had no bad connotation to begin with.

Eric Partridge's 1977 "A Dictionary of Catch Phrases American and British" states that the phrase means "like a white man, not like a Negro."
I hope this clears up the phrase's original intended use. As I implied before, I do not think /most/ people, that use this phrase, do it with the knowledge or awareness of its origin.
It is, more or less, a cultural hiccup or verbal regurgitaion, and people have attached their own interpretations. That does not, however, negate or dismantle the fact that the phrase once bore (and, undoubtedly, still does for many) racist connotations.

People say all sorts of things that have negative or derogatory undertones, without giving it a second thought. Some things become so integrated or interwoven, into the fiber of a culture, that they go unnoticed/unquestioned/unexamined.

You make great arguments, did very good research and approach the whole discussion with clarity.
I would say that your views are however Western culture centric, namely the association of colours with attributes. For example, in China white is associated with mourning, death, etc. White being the symbol of purity is based on a Western view of the whole world. We live in a global world, cutures are mingling, traditions are being challenged. Old catchphrases and expressions do not resonate with everyone the same way.
I was born in Africa, grew up in Europe and have been living in North America for over 15 years.
I never heard that expression before and trying to keep an open mind and avoid prejudging and deductive reasoning as you suggested earlier, I asked for clarity.

The question remains as I said all along - did Zach mean to use a racial slur intentionally to demean Jameka? Does this indicate that he is a racist?
If Zach used the expression with no intent to be racist, does that still make him a racist?
On the other hand, lots of people on this blog has defended ED' constant insults at various groups, arguing that using such insults, racist or anti-women, etc does not make someone a racist or anti women as along as it is for winning the game.
Does startegic intent trump other considerations? So, can someone use sexist or racist slur and not be a sexist or racist?
